Summer Films

I watch a lot of movies. Well, actually recently I’ve been watching a lot of really bad TV on DVD but I like to present myself as more of person who enjoys films. It makes me sound more educated and worth talking to. One of the benefits of being in a long distance relationship is that I have a lot of free time and I always get to pick the movie. No one is going to argue if I pick The Notebook for the millionth time or if I really want to sit all the way through Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump is kind of the like the Monopoply equivalent of a movie. It’s long as shit but pretty enjoyable if it’s raining outside and you have nowhere to go.

Perhaps a little pathetically I have been anxiously awaiting the start of the Summer Classic Film Series at the Paramount Theater. It’s basically three months of film classics you have always loved or always wanted to see. If you’re willing to make a little investment up front you can buy a ten pack of tickets for $50. That’s $5 a ticket! Cheapo!

Check out the schedule here. Join me!

But this is the not the only summer film series. Central Market, Whole Foods and Austin Parks also hold outdoor films throughout the summer. You have to love Austin, TX where grocery stores have movie nights.

I’d love to go to a drive in movie theater but at $25 a car for Eastside Drive In, I think I’ll seek out other options.

Welcome, summer!
