Just watching the trailer for this movie made me cry. I don’t think it’s necessarily designed to but that’s just how much I loved this book when I was in high school. As a teenager I constantly read books and watched books about people who wanted to belong. It’s only now that I recognize the common theme in all the things I used to enjoy and still do. In each of these works of art was a young boy or girl who felt like an outsider and who desperately wanted to feel a camaraderie with his peers. I don’t mean the characters wanted to fit in but they wanted to belong somewhere and with someone.
