DAY 8 – THE FINALE IN AUSTIN

Most awesome walk ever! My coworker’s dad walked 200 miles from Arlington to Austin alone (as in his very own personal walk not an organized thing) and raised over $1200 for diabetes. That’s pretty bad ass!!! Check out his journey!

My family in Austin had reserved a Mexican restaurant right on the City limit. I was told everyone will be there and I was expected at 3 PM. I started walking at 6 AM to make sure I could arrive on time, but began to encounter heavy rain 12 miles into the walk, which delayed me for an hour. But I had almost dried up when I got there as the rain had stopped two hours before.
