For the last four years in early to mid April, my Alaskan fisherman would leave. My whole world would shift. I hated it, our relationship being reduced to short phone calls between fishing and golf and my own schedule. But the same day that I would take him to the airport, would also be incredibly fun. The evening was always food and cocktails and lady time. I felt surrounded by love and support. You don’t always get to say that. You don’t always realize when you’re lucky. I’m very lucky in lady love. Now that I live without their lovely faces, I am even more aware of that.
A few of the many Austin ladies who have always been kind to me. I miss you.
