I’m Kat. I started blogging eight years ago as a way to chronicle my year in Australia. In moving abroad and backpacking I set out to find direction in my life, only to discover that not every journey will be Eat, Pray, Love. I didn’t become a permanent nomad as I had once hoped but I have used Seeking Misadventure to help decipher the travels I take and the adventures I create at home.
After six years living abroad and in Texas (a state that is its own country in many ways) I have made my way back home to North Carolina. Having grown up in the foothills, we’ve come back to set up roots on the sandy shores where I am trying to convince myself and others that I am a beach babe. My salty, boat captain husband Tyler, ocean wave-chasing dog Clara and wee babe Haines are all light years ahead of me.
What you’ll find here is my life as a new Mama, an avid foodie on a tight budget, a solo traveler who is learning to not be solo and as many handmade crafts and food as I can make time for.
Love it! Get it girl!
I was raised in Austin and a little over 2 years ago moved to Mexico. I miss home so much and I am happy I stumbled upon your blog. I am sure you have a lot to say about this weird city that I miss so much.
I’ve only lived here a year and I love it! Thanks for following my blog and I can’t wait to check yours out!
This is the cutest about page ever! And for the record, you’re a total beach babe. 🙂
Thanks Chrissy! It’s been a work in a progress. 🙂
